Star fundraiser gives 20 years of support⭐27 June 2019
The feeling you get when you raise money for a charity you are passionate about is truly magical. It’s that special feeling that comes from knowing your efforts will make a difference.
When you choose to support the Cornerstone Foundation, you know that any funds you raise will be used to transform lives within your community, and that’s exactly what Paula wanted to achieve when she started fundraising for us 20 years ago.
Paula is supported by Cornerstone in North Lanarkshire and has always been incredibly grateful for all of the care she has received over the years. In 1999, she wanted to give something back to show her appreciation and decided to start fundraising for her local services. Since that decision, there have been bake sales, bingo nights and more recently an Easter Coffee Morning which raised over £500.
She has a few more events planned for this year, including a tribute night.
“I set myself the goal of putting a lot of work into fundraising this year. Hoping to get an Abba night arranged. It needs a bit of work but it’s going to be a super trooper evening.”
“I’m happy I can make a difference and help let people know about the great work done by Cornerstone”
When Paula is not arranging her own fundraisers, she’s busy helping other’s with their fundraising events, or attending her local TASK* group and discussing what they can to do make a difference locally.
Her 20 year commitment makes her one of our longest serving active fundraisers and an incredible asset in the North Lanarkshire. We are so grateful for your support Paula and we cannot wait to attend your Abba night.
*TASK groups have been set-up in communities across Scotland for the people we support to have a direct impact on the care and support they receive, while also addressing a range of other topics relevant to them.
