Trekking to transform lives29 October 2019
Our leader Lisa had wanted to experience the beautiful Andes ever since reading 'Out on a Limb' many years ago, and this year she finally got the chance to finish the Inca Trail and visit the lost city of Machu Picchu.
After 15 months of fundraising walks, raffles, races nights and cèilidhs - not to mention many hours of training - she and pals Susan and Debbie raised almost £11k for the Cornerstone Foundation.
Lisa and her trekking team arrived at Machu Picchu after four days of amazing sightseeing at plateaus of 4,200m and came home with memories that'll last a lifetime.
Read more about Lisa's Inca Trail here. The Cornerstone Foundation offer unmissable trekking opportunities in 2020 for challenge-seekers whether you want to conquer the Inca Trail yourself, sledge into Lapland with huskies, cross the Sahara in four days, or navigate valleys, forests and swamps in Southeast Asia.
We've got wonderful journeys for beginner and expert trekkers and full training will be given. By setting yourself this challenge, you'll be raising funds to help local people with support needs live a valued life.
