Hi my name is Erin and I am 13 years old. I have been supported by a team of fantastic support workers from Cornerstone Dundee Children’s Service for 7 years now. The type of support I receive is a mix of help with getting me ready in the mornings for school, help getting ready for bed in the evening and enabling to go to my clubs such as Drama. I also have respite weekends where my support workers take me away for the weekend so I can have fun.
My daughter Erin has been supported by Cornerstone for a number of years now. Erin has come a long way from the first day she was introduced to staff at Cornerstone. We have had such a positive experience with Cornerstone. The staff that Support Erin have taken time to get to know Erin and what her needs are so they can give her the best support possible and we have never been disappointed neither has Erin. For my husband and I and Erin’s younger brother we know that when Erin is with cornerstone either in enabling calls or respite weekends we can relax knowing that her needs are being met and Erin is in a safe environment being supported. The support workers are very conscious of Erin having a younger brother and when they are in our home environment supporting Erin with personal care they will also ask Erin’s brother about his day and make him feel comfortable as they are in our home. All round we have a good positive experience with cornerstone and their support workers.
Please join us for an informal networking and information event exploring how local businesses and The Cornerstone Foundation can transform the lives of local children.
